Description

Long term hiatus happened for a reason (it either boost your thirst for some creativity outlet or make your arts look like crap. I've been there), but that doesn't excuse my absence and lack of response to my friends on Deviantart. Extremely sorry! D'X But I'm trying to bounce back on Deviantart this month, just waiting to sort out my priorities...probably. Nothing's really certain. ^^"

Anywho, I'm not the subject here. Just want to advertise express my fascination in  A World Only We Know by Timely.

Here's a lovely summary for y'all: He was Uchiha Ryuu, prodigy cousin of Shisui. She was Kinnara of the Sand, pacifist twin of Gaara. They were pulled together and apart in our world, but now they will be used to change the Narutoverse. Even if he wants to destroy it as she tries to save it.

Like other Naruto fanfics (trust me, the only reason I'm into Naruto is because of fanfictions, ahaha~), our protagonists are dropped into the Narutoverse after their deaths and have a life changing experience. What is not like the other Naruto fanfics is that I'm using plural. Yes, there're more than one reincarnated OC. And yes, all of them have distinctive personas that are explored in depth using multiple POVs, which means that readers aren't stuck permanently in a character's head throughout the story. Instead, we get to know the characters from inside and outside, which is rarely done in fanfiction community even if it gives you multiple perspectives to work with. Timely's use of multiple POVs also made a point that the story does not just revolve around the OCs, but the story is, and should be, revolving around the plot and character development. (Heck, how often do you see that?) The transition in each characters' mentalities in A World Only We Know made me swoon. It's not just being terrified after you realized you've just exited a woman's womb, but you also act on that fear, cope with it, fix it, and come to a resolution. I would expand more on this subject, but that will just be spoilers.

The interactions between characters, OC or canons, undoubtedly, one of my favorites to read. It took efforts to come to love someone, and it took even more efforts to mend a relationship. These things don't happen overnight, and certainly not after just one conversation. This fanfiction did a really nice job in exploring characters' relationships as they progress over time. On that subject, I really think that the two protagonists' prior relationship made a very nice sub-plot; it's not the sole focus of the story, but instead add spices for the main plot. In addition, the writing style the author uses works well in establishing tones of the story, more emotionally-based...I should say. Personally, I preferred emotional stories that jerk me to tears (the part where Kinnara chokes on her words and begs I cried with her, and it was at that moment that I decided to do something.). Since I'm stupid, scientific jargons that attempts to explain issues left unsolved by Kishimoto made me feel incredibly lost (though that didn't stop my appreciation for new, albeit complicated, theories). I just love knowing the characters while knowing why I love them.

Speaking of being stupid, I never have high scores in Writing for a reason. I won't blame you if you don't understand my writings as I jump around from one topic to another. Best is that you judge the story yourself. XD But this is a good place to stop, because honestly, my impromptu monologue is getting long. (I blame Joe Hisaishi's Concert)

Haru, Kinnara, and Ryuu belongs to Timely.
